MIGUEL A. ALONSO DEL VAL
Architect Urban Planner (1979) with High Honors, and PhD in Architecture (1983), also with High Honors, from the University of Navarra. Master of Science in Architecture & Building Design (1985) and Fulbright Scholar, has been formed with Professors Kenneth Frampton (Columbia University) and Roy Landau (Architectural Assoc.) Full professor at the School of Architecture of Madrid (1993-97) and Pamplona (1985 - ), he has also been Director of the Department of Design ETSAUN (1990-1993) and Director of Doctoral Program in Architecture (1996-2008).
He has lectured at numerous schools and Spanish Colleges of Architects and has been Visiting Professor at UPC, UPM and UAC (Spain), University of Arizona (USA), Architectural Association (UK), UNIS (Guatemala) and La Salle, UNAM and ITESM (México). Currently he is a researcher-evaluator in the fields of theory and history of the modern project, combined with other more technical on sustainable construction and urban design.
RUFINO J. HERNáNDEZ MINGUILLóN
Architect Urban Planner (1982) and PhD in Architecture (1991) from the University of Navarra. Researcher at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) (1990) and Master of Building from the University of Navarre (1993). Professor of the School of Architecture , Pamplona (1983-03), and Full professor of the San Sebastian School (1997-). He has been Deputy Director of the Master of Building of the UN and Director of the Master in Sustainable Construction of the UPV-EHU (2007 -). He has lectured at numerous schools and Spanish Colleges of Architects. Member of the permanent training group of the High Council of Architects of Spain. He is a researcher in projects of the MYFYT, PROFIT, CENIT and EUROINNOVA programs within the fields of eco-efficient construction, the closing-ICT-environment group, the new fa?ade systems and the quality of life urban environment.
AH ASOCIADOS
Both founded and directed the architectural firm ah asociados since 1989 with offices in Pamplona, Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid and Doha. They have won more than seventy professional First Prizes in competitions and have been awarded finalists COAVN Prizes (1993-1995-2001-2003-2007 and 2010), II-III-VI-X Biennial of Spanish Architecture (1993-1995, 2001 and 2009) ; IV Spanish Architecture Exhibition (1996); Veteco (2002 and 2004); Community of Murcia (2003), FAD (2002), Construmat (2003 and 2009) and Saloni (2007) Prizes. They have also received National Awards like SEDIGAS 2002, PAD 2003, PACE 2005 and NAN 2009 and 2011.
Both are book authors and collaborators with technical articles in specialized journals, their recent work has been reflected in the monograph "ah asociados 1995-2008"; presented in exhibitions like the Venice Biennale (2008) and published in catalogs, books and professional magazines like “El Croquis”, “AV”, “a+t”, “Arquitectura” or “A+W”, and in the guides “1929/1996 Architecture of Spain", "Spanish Architecture 1920/2000" and "Phaidon Atlas of Architecture World 2005".
